44-9. I am incredulous. The Coach, the Team, everything has changed. Able has certainly put some novus ordo in our seclorum. |

My apologies for the near jinx.
Cats hold on to win 44-37 turnover and on side kick lead to the close score.. game wasn't that close.
Go CATS! 5-1 |

Pretty sure that if you told fans in Oct 2017 that people would be apologizing for jinxed style points on a 5-1 Wildcat football team, they'd say that such a thing would be acceptable.
And it is.
Way to go, Cats. |

And I thought Sink throwing in the towel on his wager was going to jinx the rest of the season. _________________ That didn’t happen.

That was special, in several senses of the term. The AD said Jacksonville beat us nine seasons in a row.
It was the first game that I have watched from the end zone. It was a great way to watch the first quarter, when Davidson was scoring touchdowns a few feet away. I decided that during the fourth quarter I would take a picture with my phone. Alas, the team never got near me again.
The hero of the game was whoever had presence of mind to call for the fair catch.
I think I’ll celebrate by attending the volleyball game. _________________ Μεγάλη ἡμÎÏα εἶναι ΛÏγξ |

Little nerve racking From the chain gang view. 5-1. I remember being 5-1 after beating W&M 10/18/69, then losing to the citadel the next weekend. Way to go Cats! |

Re: Returning a blocked/failed PAT for 2 points
In 1989, Davidson lost to VMI 39-36. We had 2 PATs blocked and and returned for 2 points each, 4 points in total. Had we taken a knee on those PATs, we could have won 36-35. It's time we returned a blocked PAT for 2 points.
We were 2-8 that year. We lost 4 games by 3 points or less. One of those games was a loss to Johnson C. Smith at Memorial Stadium in Charlotte in a rainstorm. Davidson was ahead 15-12. Smith was around the 50 with time for one play. Their QB was rushed out of the pocket and threw the ball toward the end zone.
The ball was going to fall short of the end zone. A Davidson DB was racing to the end zone to help defend and never turned around to look for the ball. The ball hit the DB on the head or shoulder and bounced toward the back line. It was caught by a Smith WR for the winning TD.

Great Win by the Cats.
4th quarter hi-jinks should be enough to keep their heads from getting too big.
We need a replay board. The offense is running the Option so well at times, you can't find the ball.
Decent crowd even though most of the students left for fall break. _________________ "They were energized by this move to the A-10. How could you not be?" McKillop said. "The tree is filled with a lot of presents." |

Uggg. That 9/30/89 game vs JC Smith was heart breaking. Davidson actually returned a blocked PAT for 2 points in that game. |
