Sunday, 2 pm. ESPN+.
#283 at #153. 11%. 58-72.
Princeton has a 1-6 record against a strong schedule. They have played all of their games without star 6-4 F Bella Alarie, who broke her arm back in October. The Tigers have also been missing two other forwards due to injury, Taylor Baur and Qalea Ismail. They have a game this coming Wednesday at Villanova... we'll see who's back for that one.
Currently, they are led by a pair of guards, Carlie Littlefield (15.1 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.3 apg) and Gabrielle Rush (14.7 ppg, 6.6 rpg).
43% 2FG, 30% 3FG, 78% FT. Minus 6 on the boards, 16 topg.

This is a chance to steal one. Princeton, when healthy, is an NCAA team. Most probably a Top 25 team.
Alarie was the best player on our court last year. And, their coach, Courtney Banghart, was national coach of the year a couple of years ago.
But, this one is winnable. But we have to quit the dumb turnovers and finish shots. _________________ "I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter."

None of Princeton's three injured forwards played last night against #60 Villanova, who won by 21 or so.
----
The chart below shows...
* Katie's cumulative assists by game last year when she set the freshman single season record
* Same thing for Katie this season
* Same thing for Cassidy this season
Lots of games left, but it will be interesting to chart this over the season.
Currently, both players are on track to break 100. That's happened once before, in 2006-07, Tia Washington and Jessica Mitchell.

Her father is Mark Alarie, Duke All-American on the 85-86 NCAA Finals team, with fellow seniors Jay Bilas, Johnny Dawkins, David Henderson, and Tommy Amaker, as well as a couple of freshmen named Ferry and Snyder ... maybe the best collection of talent Duke has ever had. They lost to Never Nervous Pervis and the Louisville Cardinals in the championship game. _________________ "We should've thrown our number 7 pitcher against Davidson......" Another one of note... Qalea Ismail is the daughter of Qadry Ismail and the niece of Raghib "Rocket" Ismail, former Syracuse and Notre Dame, as well as NFL, football players.
Amaker (who I think was a year younger than Alarie et al) played at W.T. Woodson in Annandale, VA, the same high school that produced John and T Jay Pecorak. _________________ ...coming out of the murky, dreary jungle of untutored mediocrity. |

For me it seems to depend mostly upon the topic. Davidson basketball puts me into the Dork intersection more than anything else. _________________ Μεγάλη ἡμÎÏα εἶναι ΛÏγξ |

Qadry Ismail was a partial qualifier at Syracuse. His grades and board scores did not allow him to play his freshman year. His daughter attends Princeton. That's a feel good story in itself. |

Same starters: Kianna, Katie, Sarah D, Cassidy, Ally
Both teams, man-to-man.
6:45, 3-3, no offensive flow at all for us.
3:45, 11-8, Cats. All 11 points from Katie and Justine. Pretty ragged by both teams, 4-5 from deep combined not withstanding.
End of 1st qtr, 13-12, Cats. Katie has 7, Justine 4. Six Davidson turnovers. Neither team making shots. _________________ ...coming out of the murky, dreary jungle of untutored mediocrity. |

2nd qtr, under 5 timeout, 23-20, Tigers. Too many open looks from 3 for them. Too many orebs for them.
Halftime, 27-24, Cats close out the quarter nicely. Katie has 14 on 6-6 shooting, plus 3 assists. Ally with 7 boards, Sarah with 6. 26% FG for Princeton, 35% for Davidson. Tigers were 4-9 from deep at one point, but have missed their last 4, now 4-13. Both teams missing some pretty good looks. _________________ ...coming out of the murky, dreary jungle of untutored mediocrity. |

3rd qtr, both teams starting quickly. 40-32, Cats, after 3 minutes.
Under timeout, 40-35. Back to a grinder, suddenly. _________________ ...coming out of the murky, dreary jungle of untutored mediocrity.
