Saturday, 5 pm. ESPN+.
#214 at #355. 43%. 64-67.
The Tribe is 2-1. Lost by 17 to #174 VCU. Double digit wins over Howard and Loyola(MD), both rated in the 400's.
Gone are three of last year's top five scorers, including 6-4 shot blocker Abby Rendle. Top returner is 5-8 G Bianca Boggs, 18.3 pts, 6.6 reb, 4+ asts. Very skilled and athletic player. Next is 5-10 F Victoria Reynolds, 9.3 pts and 6 rebs.
We played one of our less memorable games of last season up in Williamsburg.
49% 2FG, 39% 3FG, 63% FT. Minus 1 on the boards. 18 apg. 16 topg. Most of those missed FTs came from good 3-pt shooters. Go figure.

1st qtr, both teams man-to-man, Cassidy attacking the paint early, 3-0, Cats.
Under 5 timeout, 8-6, Cats. W&M switching defenses, man, 2-2-1 full court press, zone. Davidson has turned it over twice against the press.

3:14, 14-6, Cats looking sharp at both ends.
End of 1st qtr, 23-17, Cats, on the buzzer three by Justine. Both teams making shots at the end of the quarter. Cats are 9-14 from the field. Kianna has 8, Justine with 5, Sarah with 5 boards. Davidson up 12-6 overall on rebounds.

2nd qtr, 7:06, 25-21, Cats. Boggs starting to get it going, she has 4. Cassidy, Katie, and Justine all getting into the paint for us.
3:24, 28-27, Tribe, who had a 9-0 run.
Halftime, 33-31, Cats. Good half, solid effort throughout. Justine has 11, Kianna 8, Ally with 6.

Under 5 timeout, tied at 41. Ally now in double figures. Plus 6 on the boards. Threes keeping the Tribe even, they're 6-13.
3:25, 43-all. Five assists for Cassidy now.

4th qtr, 6:44, 58-52, Cats after Kianna's 3rd three. She has 11, Sarah also in double figures now with 10.
4:59, 61-59, Cats.
4:07, 63-61, Cats, who will inbound after the timeout.
2:50, same score, Tribe calls timeout.
2:18, Katie to the FT line... make, make, 65-61, Cats.
Sarah, another double-double. Boggs shoots a pair... make, make, 65-63.
** Kianna with a big three, up 5.
** Cats get the stop, Katie with a three, 71-63, Cats, 1:22 remaining.
Sarah steals, Katie to the line again... make, make, up 10.
37 seconds, Tribe for a pair... make, make, 73-65.
Justine's turn at the FT line... two makes, 75-65, 24 seconds.
Katie again.. miss, make.
14.1 seconds, 76-65, Sarah draws a charge, Cats to inbound. Tribe done fouling.
** Final, 76-65, Cats. Loved the 40-minute effort, and the fantastic finish.

Notable efforts from many Wildcats today.
* Cassidy with 8 pts, 5 rebs, and 7 asts, one more than her previous best.
* Sarah D with 10 pts, 10 rebs, 5 asts and 3 stls.
* Katie with 11, including a clutch 3 and FTs down the stretch
* Justine had a team high 17
* Ally with 14 pts and 6 rebs
* Kianna with 14 pts, 4 rebs, 3 asts, and 3 stls, including the big 3 that put us up 5. Nowhere close to her highest scoring game, but perhaps her best all-around game for Davidson.
Cats won the boards 37-28, won turnovers 13-20, won 2nd chance points 16-4.
Congrats to the team and staff on this one, coming off three tough losses.
Next up, the High Point Panthers come calling on Monday.
