I don't know how yelling it instead of singing it can be considered an improvement.

Can't help you. You either like his covers or you don't. Several of his covers are huge improvements over the originals. If you like them.

| If you want a band that does covers, arguably, better than the original, try Tedeschi Trucks. I had not heard of them till this summer when Mark Rodgman recommended them. |

As long as we're talking cover bands, I'll give a shout-out to my late '70s contemporary, Tim Purcell, and his daughter (whose name I can't recall), of Foxes and Fossils.

Tim is the lead singer. I believe he is class of '78. He's married to Terri Peat Purcell, math major from the class of '77, and one of the first 89 women admitted to Davidson as freshmen in the fall of '73.
