Saturday. 7 pm. Homecoming. They are 1-0 after crushing Methodist. Should be fun. We're getting better. _________________ "McKillop is a gentleman. He could have played 'name that score' if he so desired."---St Joe's fan |

If wet, it's good our offense is run-based. |

Guilford is familiar with Coach Abell's offense. They played Washington & Lee annually in the ODAC.
The good news is W&L had a good game against Guilford last year. The Generals rushed 67 times for 526 yards. W&L won 47-26.
Guilford defeated us at least 3 times in the '70s and once in the '90s. |

So far, I have seen the following adjectives applied to our projected rainfall for the weekend: torrential, catastrophic, devastating, overwhelming, epic, and most ominous of all, unthinkable. I have not yet seen apocalyptic or biblical, but Jim Cantore is now in Wilmington, so it could be soon. _________________ "We should've thrown our number 7 pitcher against Davidson......" Call me skeptical, I don't put much faith in our current weather services.
My experience with Hugo zooming through my neighborhood taught me that hurricane forecasts are educated guesses at best. _________________ "They were energized by this move to the A-10. How could you not be?" McKillop said. "The tree is filled with a lot of presents." |

My bridge group is scheduled to play at The Pines on Wednesday. It has been suggested that we not play this week because of the hurricane. Perhaps someone knows something I don’t. _________________ Μεγάλη ἡμÎÏα εἶναι ΛÏγξ |

The Weather Channel will soon be taking recommendations if you want them to pray for the destruction of specific cities.
Many NC high school games have already been moved to Wednesday. Many have been cancelled with the hope of playing them at the end of the season. The Mooresville at South Iredell game has been moved to Thursday night, but I won't be surprised if they shift it to Wednesday. _________________ "McKillop is a gentleman. The storm is predicted to make landfall around at 8:00 PM Thursday. Moving a Saturday night game to Thursday appears to be counter-intuitive.
The storm should be gone by Saturday, unless it stops or slows after making landfall, which is possible. Floyd is an example of a storm that slowed after making landfall. |

If it speeds through, Saturday could be lovely, if we can get to the stadium and there is power.
If it stalls, Thursday night might be the last chance for a while.
Weather people seem to be giving a greater chance to the stall model. How much of that is science and how much ratings I don’t know. _________________ Μεγάλη ἡμÎÏα εἶναι ΛÏγξ |

My coworkers and I were placed in the ironic position of having to cancel a transportation safety conference this week in the interest of transportation safety. _________________ The basic entrance fee to being a good person is to listen to and believe people who lack a privilege you have. |

Well, I just heard a news announcer say, "This is not hyperbole." That about cinches it. _________________ "We should've thrown our number 7 pitcher against Davidson......" Post by Tar Heel baseball fan 16 minutes into the game. |
