#225 at #196. Richmond got a nice bump from their win at GW. No prediction from Massey as of this writing.
Sagarin has them as roughly 3-point favorites at home.
The Spiders have won 6 of their last 8. Most of that was against the bottom of the league, and it includes Wednesday's 9-point home loss to UMass.
They shoot a lot of 3's -- more than 100 more than we have and second most in the A10. They convert at 30%.
Dealing with Micaela and Alex Parson will be a major concern. Both of them get to the rim and draw fouls or finish. We did a pretty good job handling them -- both penetration and high ball screens -- in the first game. However, the Spiders hurt us by getting the ball out to both of them for solo 1-on-1 fast breaks.
39% 2FG, 30% 3FG, 71% FT. Minus 5 on the boards. Plus 5 in turnovers and plus 3.5 in steals.
FR G Kailyn Fee went to Oakton HS in Vienna, VA. That's Derek Smith's high school. Just to set the record straight, there is no truth to the rumor that Derek loaned one his Oakton T-shirts to Julia Roberts for that scene in Erin Brockovich. Absolutely none.

Looks like a brutish, short and nasty tournament run. However, I am very much encouraged that the team record this year in the best since 2013-2014. |

This team is really fun to watch. And their future is bright. Those are two things that a fan hasn't been able to say for several years. Picked 14th and finished 9th. I don't know what they'll be picked to start next year, but it damn sure won't be 14th. _________________ "McKillop is a gentleman. Have never loaned any clothing to Julia Roberts.
An interesting fact only to me, I'm sure, but Julia Roberts graduated from Campbell High School in Smyrna, Ga which is where I would have attended had I not moved to ChantillyCat's neighborhood and attended Oakton High School. _________________ Sit vis nobiscum |

If it's not a really strong recruiting class, the league figures to be down a bit next season.
Duquesne has all their starters returning next season. So do Rhody and VCU.
Every other team is losing their (arguably) best player, and in some cases quite a bit more.
* Dayton loses three starters, including Jenna Burdette
* Fordham loses G'mrice Davis
* GW loses Brianna Cummings and Kelli Prange
* Mason loses two starters, including Natalie Butler
* La Salle loses two starters, including Amy Griffin
* UMass loses two starters, including Maggie Mulligan
* Richmond loses two (or three) starters, including Micaela Parson
* Joes loses three starters, including Chelsea Woods
* Saint Louis loses 4 starters, including Jackie Kempf
* Bona loses Mariah Ruff
* Davidson loses two starters, including Mackenzie
Those names figure to make up most of the all-A10 teams. _________________ ...coming out of the murky, dreary jungle of untutored mediocrity. |

Sure looks like Duquesne has to be next year's favorite unless Dayton can reload again. |

Starters... Kianna, Katie, Saadia, Ally, Mackenzie.
Good ol' Davidson University.
Both teams, man-to-man.
7-0, Spiders, who are looking to run. Timeout, Cats. _________________ ...coming out of the murky, dreary jungle of untutored mediocrity. |

3:52, 12-6, Spiders. Mackenzie with all 6 for us.
End of 1st qtr, 21-8. Ugh. M. Parson has 11 for UR. Justine with 2 fouls. _________________ ...coming out of the murky, dreary jungle of untutored mediocrity. |

This is ugly. 10 Davidson turnovers. 8 for UR.
5:11, 2nd qtr, Cats getting back in it, 22-18. Mackenzie has 13 on 6-8 shooting.
Halftime, 32-21. We have 13 turnovers, they have 12. Mackenzie still with 13 pts. Katie with 5. Ally has 6 boards.
Well, no shortage of things we can improve on. We pressed effectively a bit early 2nd qtr. I expect we'll see some more of that.
Halftime scores...
Joes over VCU, 31-23
Fordham up big on URI, 41-14
GW over La Salle, 36-23
Mason up on Bona, 44-35
SLU/UMass starts at 8 pm ET. _________________ ...coming out of the murky, dreary jungle of untutored mediocrity. |

3rd qtr...
** Katie just hit her 2nd triple of the game, and her 74th of the season. That ties her with Wildcat great Hannah Early at the top of the single season list.
5:28, 41-26.
3:32, 41-28. Mackenzie with 15, Katie with 8.
End of 3rd qtr, 44-37. Mackenzie up to 20 pts on 9-11 from the floor. Ally has 11 rebounds. _________________ ...coming out of the murky, dreary jungle of untutored mediocrity. |
