2 pm, Sunday, EagleBank Arena.

Imagine for a second what it'd be like if we could add Sophia and Laura to this year's Wildcats.

Well, that's more or less what Mason did to their roster this year.

UConn grad transfer Natalie Butler is the A10's leading scorer and rebounder, has 12 double-doubles, and has won 5 of the 7 A10 POY awards this season. Nicole Cardaño-Hillary, a freshman from Madrid by way of Texas, is the 3rd leading scorer in the A10, is 2nd in steals, and has won two A10 ROY awards.

Sophomore swingman Jacy Bolton rounds out their double figure scorers at 11.6 ppg.

#240 at #120. 19% chance. 68-58.

Mason is 0-3 against the Massey top 100, all 9-point or worse losses. They are 2-0 against 101-200, both double digit wins. They are 2-0 against 201-300, both roughly 20 pt wins.

The other seven games were against teams ranked #395 or lower. One of those games was close, an OT win over LIU Brooklyn in Fairfax. Their schedule strength is #269, ours is #127.

The Patriots are 9-0 at home. Best win was a neutral site contest versus #147 Drake. No bad losses, obviously.

Just as a point of interest, Massey rates us on the low side compared to other rating systems. Our RPI is currently 147. Our Sagarin rating is 170.

2nd qtr, 5 minute mark, 34-20, Cats. Justine with 12 plus 5 boards, Kianna with 9. Mackenzie has 4 plus 4 rebs.

Cats are 5-11 from deep, Mason 0-8. Great to see Sarah playing.

Halftime, 45-27, Cats, who went on a 14-0 run right when I began watching. Cool

Davidson is shooting 47% 2FG, 54% 3FG. 5 turnovers to their 10. Katie has 9, Ally with 7.

Ally, Mackenzie, and Justine each with 2 fouls, Kyla has 3. Only 6 pts for Butler and Cardaño-Hillary combined.

Both teams man-to-man, Mason very aggressive toward the end of the half -- I'd bet that will continue into the 2nd half.

3rd qtr, 45-35. GMU suddenly hitting from outside, 8-0 run to start the half, 11-0 run going back to the 1st half.

Under 5 timeout, 47-44, Cats. 20-2 run going back to the 1st half, by my count. Mason has amped up at both ends, especially defensively, we haven't matched it.

End of 3rd qtr, 55-54, Cats. Forgot to mention, Justine had 3 1st half steals, which puts her over 100 for her career -- nice milestone.

Sarah playing gives us a better chance to win some conference games. Wildcats are now up 57-54 with under 8 to play. Got a shot.

Down 3 with just over 5 minutes left. 57-60. Great second half response by Mason.

4th qtr, under 5 timeout, 60-59, Mason. Back and forth they go, in a grinding sort of way.

2:13, 63-59, Mason. Can't get shots to fall.

59-63 with 2:13. We've had some good looks.

45 Wildcat points in the first half. 14 so far in the second. But this is a team that Massey's numbers gave us just a 19% chance against and projected a 10 point loss.

61-65 now with a minute to play.

47 seconds, down 6.

They've given us plenty of chances.

Interesting team stats. We dominated turnovers and especially the points off of turnovers. They owned the glass.

33 seconds, down 8.

We had 24 pts of 9 GMU turnovers in the 1st half. Only 6 pts off 12 GMU turnovers in the 2nd half.

** Final, 74-61.

Game was obviously much closer than that.
