#350 at #224 according to Massey. 70% chance of victory.
We have two common opponents already. UNC-Asheville lost to WCU by 10, we won by 13. They lost to NC State by 32, we lost by 24. Those games were road games for them and for us.
In their other game, UNC-Asheville lost at home to #139 Charlotte. That game went down to the wire after the 49'ers blew almost all of a 10 point 4th quarter lead.
Jessica Wall has made 10 of 24 three's for the Bulldogs. _________________ ...coming out of the murky, dreary jungle of untutored mediocrity. |

Starters... Katie, Saeeda, Andrea, Justine, Mackenzie
Video... http://bit.ly/2iosWBR
Stats... http://bit.ly/2Bbr6Mq
Derek's stream is up. Image looks clearer to me than previously, and the operator just zoomed in tight to mid-court and re-focused, twice, as if testing it. I wonder if we got some new equipment. Or maybe it's my new eyeglasses.
1st qtr, under 5 timeout, 8-4, Asheville. Cats in man-to-man, and pressing full court. Asheville with "token pressure" then falling back into zone. Davidson has 5 fouls already.
2:44 left, 14-4. Another very slow start. Cats call timeout.
End of 1st qtr, 16-10, them. We've missed good looks, and not played except toward the end. Cats are mixing man-to-man with 1-3-1 trapping zone. Mostly zone from the Bulldogs. Getting outworked (and perhaps fouled) a bit inside. _________________ ...coming out of the murky, dreary jungle of untutored mediocrity. |

2nd qtr. Cats currently on a 13-2 run. They lead now, 17-16.
Under 5 timeout, 21-18, Cats. Andrea has scored 5 in a row after coming off the bench with 2 fouls, to replace Mackenzie, who also has two fouls. Cats have stopped turning it over, Asheville fouling us a lot now.
Halftime, 27-20, Davidson. 2nd qtr score was 17-4. Current Wildcat run is 23-6.
Justine has 10 pts plus 5 boards. Andrea, Katie, and Sarah with 5 apiece. Mackenzie has 5 rebounds. Cats continue to move their feet on D and keep their hands off to avoid getting called for cheap fouls. Katie, Mackenzie, and Andrea each with 2 fouls.
Halftime interview with Asst Coach James Janssen. _________________ ...coming out of the murky, dreary jungle of untutored mediocrity.

Picture is fairly clear in the arener, too. Cleared up so much in second quarter that the refs could see some of Asheville’s fouls. _________________ Μεγάλη ἡμÎÏα εἶναι ΛÏγξ |

Team stats are fairly even, with the exception of FTs. We are 10-13, they are 2-2.
3rd qtr, 6:15 left, 34-20, Cats. Consecutive 3's by Katie and Justine. Timeout, UNCA.
Under 5 timeout, 34-24.
1:30 left, 46-27, Wildcats.
End of 3rd qtr, 46-29. Justine came up limping at the end there. Hope it's nothing bad. _________________ ...coming out of the murky, dreary jungle of untutored mediocrity. |

8:14 left, 50-32. Bulldogs playing with much more urgency now, pressing, early shots.
6:34 left, 54-37. Bulldogs still pressing man-to-man full court, denying the inbounds then trapping immediately.
Justine back in the game. She looks fine.
Wildcats getting sloppy. 3:13 left, 54-44.
2:34, 54-46. Bulldogs on a 12-0 run.
55 seconds, 56-46. Mackenzie to shoot a pair... make, make. Up 12.
44 seconds, 58-48, Wildcats to inbound.
Final, 58-50, Wildcats. _________________ ...coming out of the murky, dreary jungle of untutored mediocrity. |

Wildcats played very well the middle half of the game. The other 20 minutes, ermm..
Justine had 13 pts, 5 rebs, 3 blks, and 3 stls. Katie with 13 pts and 3 asts. Andrea had 10, Mackenzie with 8 pts and 7 rebs, Sarah with 7 pts and 9 rebs, and Saadia with 5 pts and 6 rebs.
Cats were 20-25 from the FT line.
Our next four games include three of the eight top 100 opponents on our schedule, plus a top 150 opponent. Toughest stretch of the season. Princeton is first up, they come to visit on Saturday.
Happy Thanksgiving, everybody, and Go Cats! _________________ ...coming out of the murky, dreary jungle of untutored mediocrity. |

Nice win, a treat before the holiday!!! I havent been able to watch or listen to any games this year but it sounds like were competing more and more this year. Other teams seem to go on late runs to either come back or pull away from us, but we held on tonight. Hopefully thats something were learning on how to close out games and will get better at as the season goes on. |

Shooting percentage not very good. Turnovers more of a factor than anything.
Defense looked good a lot of the time: presses, double teams, shot clock violations. Some good hustle.
Final margin slightly better than Massey prediction, but seemed bad after a 20-point margin. UNCA's comeback added excitement to the game. _________________ Μεγάλη ἡμÎÏα εἶναι ΛÏγξ |

Lots of good, lots of bad. Both teams shot very well at the free throw line. Both teams were terrible from the field and particularly terrible beyond the arc. Plenty of unforced turnovers. Plenty of forced turnovers. Neither team could handle a press. No crowd at all. UNCA brought some fans. I sat behind Bronaza Fitzgerald's family. They were delightful. We'll win a few games in the A10. If we get some other players healthy and available, we'll win a few more. Tonight we were without Speight, Davidson, Welling, and Johnson. Winning with just 9 players is tough. Only 7 of those played over 8 minutes. This coaching staff is a breath of fresh air. They appear to know what's going on and to care. _________________ "McKillop is a gentleman. He could have played 'name that score' if he so desired."---St Joe's fan |

Im certainly much more excited for the team than i have been the past few seasons. Maybe thats a bit unfair to the prior coaches, but its hard not to get excited with close games and some early wins after a change. |

Do NOT set a late, weak screen against this group of Cats. They will truck you and happily accept the foul. Fun to see. _________________ "McKillop is a gentleman. He could have played 'name that score' if he so desired."---St Joe's fan |
