So we are starting to see 2020 offers. We have not heard much about 2019. Makes me think that there is a lot going on to which we are not privy.

Actually, I counted up the years of our recent offers (10 in total) and 5 are 2020 and 5 are 2019. 2 of the 2019 are smaller (6’2/6’1) guards, 1 is a 6’6 wing, and the other 2 are 6’8+ forwards.

?? we have two 2019 offers (one for a player we don't appear to be in the mix for) and three 2020 offers, two this past week. Not trying to question or talk down to but am curious if there is something I am missing here.

2019: Roddy, DJ Burns (offered way back, has focused on other schools seemingly)

2020: Dallion Johnson, Ben Carlson, Justice Ajogbor

Check the twitter... some is also interest which isnt obviously offers. This is just from the recent flurry of activity:

2019: Roddy, Jaden Shackleford, Drew Greene, Jaden Frazier, and Ben Lubarsky
2020:Dallion johnson, Isiah Warfield, Jacobi Wood, Carlson, Lincoln Ball, and Shamann Artis

Also we have interest/offers to Jackson Threadgill(20), Justice(20), Tyler Bertram(19), and Ryan Greer (19)

The “Davidson Recruiting” twitter account is really great. Whoever runs it does a great job.

Interest is exciting especially when things are quiet, but it can range from “on the verge of making an offer” to “an assistant followed him on twitter.” An offer is a big deal, especially for us since we are stingier with offers than a lot of programs, so I would hold off on getting too excited about a kid until that happens

Not to disagree just to disagree, but I'd even go a step further. I don't even think its smart to get excited when we offer a kid. I wait to get truly excited when we get an "official" visit or put the full court press on a kid (See Kellan's recruitment).

I care about two things. When someone commits and when Davidson admits.

You should jump on the VCU bandwagon.

It has 43 open offers for 2 spots left in 2019 class.

I view an offer as big deal just because I see it as an invitation to our program, and we don't just invite anyone to our program (VCU's offer list is a great example of the exact opposite). Official visits are huge since it means mutual interest. But 100% you are correct, nothing really matters until those two steps, it's just no fun to wait until then to get excited Cool

Someone needs to tell these Syracuse people to back off:

http://orangefizz.net/2018/05/who-should-syracuse-target-with-bryce-golden-off-the-market/

"Who Should Syracuse Target With Bryce Golden Off The Market" (May 2)
Quote:
Luka Brajkovic, Forward

Brajkovic is an Austrian forward who has good size at 6-foot-9. 247Sports lists him inside their top 250. He has the length that Syracuse desires, but would need to work on his strength a good amount. He only has a couple of offers, but they’re from solid schools in Davidson and Penn State. Syracuse’s notoriety would clearly trump those, but it may come down to whether Boeheim wants another player in the mold of Marek Dolezaj on his roster.

OrangeFizz is one of my least favorite Syracuse sites. It is amateur at best and the opinions are decidedly awful. Those guys do not know what they’re talking about.

Since we never know about 1/2 the offers we make, I don't follow that so much. I do enjoy hearing about official visits as 9 times out of 10 we have offered them and they have enough interest that they are visiting. I dare say if it says we have 10 offers out, you could easily double or triple that.

Probably true, but if Luka didn't sign his NLI in April, then I would have a little concern about their news.

That's just crazy. Do they do that to scare a kid into committing early before someone else gets the slot?
