One of the most inspirational events I have attended in a long time.
He talked about life, read essays from one of his books, and reminisced about his time at Davidson. Turns out he came here as a freshman in 1977 and transferred to Rutgers after two years to be near the NYC scene.
A real moment was when he was relating something important in his life that had happened in the 900 Room, when he suddenly realized that we were in what was the 900 Room back then.
Well, you had to be there, and I mean that in several senses. Obviously I could relate to what he was saying better than probably anyone else there. He was really interested in biology when he came here and was pre-med until music took over his life. Close enough to me for . . . jazz.
It certainly related well to some essays I had read recently on improvisation and inspired me for an always daunting task coming up again in a couple of weeks. I won't belabor this further, though certainly much would be applicable to playing sports. Maybe our Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance discussion would be applicable here. _________________ Μεγάλη ἡμÎÏα εἶναι ΛÏγξ |

I remember seeing him play a few times. It was clear even back then that he was a phenomenal talent. _________________ "There ain't no sanity clause!" Chico Marx |

Is the above thread about secret player 1, secret player 2, or a blend of both?
If it is all about one of the secret players, can we get some hints on the other? _________________ This is a post by BDF, not BDL. |

Oh, I just figured it was regular dcats randomness. This has always been about secret names? Anyone else feel as daft as I do right now? _________________ The basic entrance fee to being a good person is to listen to and believe people who lack a privilege you have. |

I understand we have one secret name guy, but do we have a second already? Or is the 2nd unknown just a tbd placeholder? |
