Davison is going to be a good guard for someone. I hope he's a Wildcat. _________________ "McKillop is a gentleman. He could have played 'name that score' if he so desired."---St Joe's fan |

With Jack being a senior next year, we will need another guy in the backcourt with KG. |
I know that the Wizards speak in a veiled tongue. As with so many of your posts, wftc, your enigmatic statement can be interpreted several ways. Often it is what you don't say that proves the most enlightening. To whom do you refer to as that "other guy"? An existing team member? Or another, hitherto unknown guard? |
I think it's a fair question to ask and also depends how good JAG becomes and if he's a lead guard or develops into more of an off-ball guard.
It's also worth noting that the two teams in the national title game started two point guards (Arcidiacano/Brunson, Paige/Berry) as did many other teams in what is becoming a trend in college basketball. |
I see Davidson moving to the 2 "point guard"model soon. It worked really well in 1974 due to necessity. |

Ah, the art of legerdemain. |
Wftc is more reminiscent of Peter Sellers in one of my favorite movies, Being There (1979):
President "Bobby": Mr. Gardner, do you agree with Ben, or do you think that we can stimulate growth through temporary incentives?
[Long pause]
Chance the Gardener: As long as the roots are not severed, all is well. And all will be well in the garden.
President "Bobby": In the garden.
Chance the Gardener: Yes. In the garden, growth has it seasons. First comes spring and summer, but then we have fall and winter. And then we get spring and summer again.
President "Bobby": Spring and summer.
Chance the Gardener: Yes.
President "Bobby": Then fall and winter.
Chance the Gardener: Yes.
Benjamin Rand: I think what our insightful young friend is saying is that we welcome the inevitable seasons of nature, but we're upset by the seasons of our economy.
Chance the Gardener: Yes! There will be growth in the spring!
Benjamin Rand: Hmm!
Chance the Gardener: Hmm!
President "Bobby": Hm. Well, Mr. Gardner, I must admit that is one of the most refreshing and optimistic statements I've heard in a very, very long time.
[Benjamin Rand applauds]
President "Bobby": I admire your good, solid sense. That's precisely what we lack on Capitol Hill. _________________ “Yeah, well, you know, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.†— Jeff Bridges as The Dude in "The Big Lebowski" |

I'm perfectly willing to sign up 8 of the 13 scholarship slots as guys who can play point guard- as long as half of them are big enough to guard the other team's small forward. Currently I think we have that, so as far as I'm concerned we can take Davison and anyone else who has the ability to play point guard.
I don't worry about Davidson's ability to score points or open up the offense. I worry about whether they have enough players to rebound and defend P5 big men when we play those teams. Its just such a helpless feeling when we play high major schools and our big men have no chance. |

Platek received an offer from UNC last night. 247 is predicting him to the Tar Heels (http://247sports.com/PlayerInstitution/Andrew-Platek-at-Northfield-Mount-Hermon-147587/CurrentExpertPredictions), and just reading the tea leaves with some of his quotes ("Dream come true," "this accelerates my recruiting process," etc.) and how his visits have all been to Power 5 schools, it seems like he's drawn to the idea of playing at a bigger school than Davidson. That said, he's referenced academics as a priority on multiple occasions and we did just snag his teammate, so I wouldn't rule him 100% out yet even if it appears to be trending in the wrong direction.
I personally think he would not be a good fit an UNC considering how they don't emphasize the 3-point shot (to say the least) and he would likely be used as a specialist there while he is capable of much more. |

They don't emphasize the three point shot because they don't have anyone that can shoot it! _________________ www.DavidsonPhotos.com

Not when they bury him at the 4 position and have him play in the post. _________________ www.DavidsonPhotos.com
