This kid showed flashes against the Celtics. I think he's for real. Still hoping for a Carmelo for Steph deal but don't know if it's financially possible.

Jeremy Lin was waived by Golden State at the beginning of this year.
Perhaps if he shot more, made fewer, acted like a thug and disparaged his teammates, Golden State would have considered him indespensible. _________________ "Layup is... BLOCKED!! Was that Cochran or Cohen that blocked that shot?"

Carmelo makes 18.5 MM, Steph makes 3.1 MM. You could throw in Biedrins and the numbers still do not work.
It is not like Lin has come from nowhere. He scored 30 against UConn and 52 (combined) against BC in 2 games.
The Warriors had to waive him to make a qualifying offer to a guy that the Clippers matched. When they waived him, wouldn't the Bobcats have been able to grab him first?
The Observer has a front page story about the Bobcats's 13th straight loss. Do they go to bed so early that they cannot post an article about the guy who might make casual fans forget 11/19/04? |

I've talked to a lot of former NBA fans over the years, and not one of them has mentioned the brawl when explaining why they don't watch anymore. Usually I hear people complain about the death of team play. Contrary to what some would say, NBA team play was strong even into the '90s. Sad to see it fall so low. _________________ JBA |

That article makes some sense. I think everyone is wondering how you go from not even being able to be a back-up at Golden State to nearly an All-Star overnight, but much improved shooting could well be the missing ingredient.
If you look at his shooting stats from last year, they were not good. So if you assume that he was just an average shooting very good college player, he really needed to improve that to even get floor time in the NBA. All of those guys, even the backups (OK, except Rajon Rondo) can shoot lights out compared to, say, the best shooter in the Ivy League, so if he couldn't do that, even if he could do other things, he wouldn't see the floor.
So for him, the lockout may have ignited his career. If he couldn't practice with the team, he could (and apparently did) spend many hours improving his shot. If he'd been able to have team practices, he probably doesn't get that time. |

There's an interview with Scheppler on On Point that talks briefly about Jeremy training to beat Steph. _________________ Curry responds, "You know what's cooler than a million 3-pointers? A billion 3-pointers."
