I think this is all a long term cost savings ploy by the southern conference.
Think about how cheap it would be for the conference tournament to be a three team round robin and then be able to split the tournament money (possibly two games worth because the SoCon has positioned itself to play in the play-in game) among just three teams.
It's a brilliant ploy if you really think about it. _________________ "I knew coming from high school that it would be fun, but I didn’t think it would be this much fun"

Here's 28 pages of CAA expansion talk that starts off with the guarantee that Elon is joining-- http://boards.caazone.com/showthread.php?126067-Expansion-News _________________ “He was like Fred Astaire,” Gervin said. “He was dancing and twirling around, gliding across the floor. Who was it that predicted the merger of the SoCon and the Big South? That looks more possible every day. Has the Big South lost anyone this season? _________________ "That little sucker can shoot, man!"

Thread contains this gem though.

Did someone write this AFTER our move was announced? It would take some creative thinking to come up with that one. _________________ "I knew coming from high school that it would be fun, but I didn’t think it would be this much fun"

Every team would play the others seven times and then have a double elimination tournament. |

The SoCon is clearing the decks for long term domination by Kennesaw State.
You'll know the fix is in when Iamarino and Odom buy houses in Acworth and insist that the nation's oldest basketball tournament henceforth be known as the Scattered, Smothered and Covered Classic.
UTC has taken steps to avoid being eclipsed by the I-75 Corridor Behemoth, but the effort will be in vain. |

Elon to the CAA would make me a more avid CAA fan. Daughter #1 went to UNCW undergrad and Elon Law School.
Since the CAA and the A 10 tournaments do not overlap (not yet, anyway) I can go to both. She can be my designated driver for the A 10.
As long as it stays in Brooklyn, she just needs to make sure I get on the right subway.
Daughter #2 and my son went/go to ASU. We have not checked where the Sun Belt tournament will be in '15. |
