Battle for Atlantis

Post by stevelee » Thu May 09, 2024 2:19 pm

Given that field, is there any chance of Davidson winning a game?

Depends on brackets, injuries, food poisoning, etc. A win would be nice. Two would be spectacular.

They have a monthly payment plan for all the hotels listed.

This was an answer to the question of whether we have a chance for a win. Louisville has been horrible for the past two years.

Our chances may hinge on whether or not we sign an experienced portal point guard who can both shoot and dish. That said, I'm worried.

Yes. I'm looking for a huge impact signing. Scoot said he wants an "... experienced portal point guard who can both shoot and dish." You say to stay tuned. I'm tuned. How long do I have to wait? Soon would be nice. We need players.

In 2004 my high school class had a fortieth reunion on a 3-night cruise. We stopped at Nassau, and a group of us hired a guide with a van. We toured the Atlantis, and I thought I’d never be able to afford to stay there, or really have the occasion to go. But it was really nice. http://www.stevelee.name/reunion/paradise.html (Sorry about the olde timey picture navigation. I posted that when a lot of people were still using dialup connections. I should redo the page.)

Since I have tons and tons of credit, in theory I can afford almost anything (OK maybe not the house down the street from me that I just saw is listed for $1.5M.) A bad way that my mind works is that when i don’t buy something, I think, OK, now I have all this extra money to spend. By not going, there is a $4,000 lens I could buy. But since I’m unlikely to buy the lens (details available if you insist), hey, now I can afford to go to the tournament with that extra money. Rinse and repeat.

Anyway, that looks like the strongest lineup of teams I have seen for any of our tournaments. It was fun to be in Asheville (which is always fun in itself) and see us beat Maryland. So Maryland turned out not to be that good, but it was still fun. And then it looked like Clemson had not bothered to scout our team at all, even with two days’ notice, also fun to watch.
