| Davcats92 - are you taking your Davidson flag to the Seattle game at D.C. this weekend? Hope Alex plays and has a great game, and have fun sitting (standing) with the ECS. |

Yeah, I have a Davidson flag all packed up and will have it in case he makes the trip to D.C. _________________ Bonzai Davidson!

I went to see the Sounders FC play D.C United and sat with the ECS (Seattle's Supporters Group) and saw that Alex made the matchday roster but wasn't brought off the bench in a very defensive game that finished 0-0. Next up for Alex is a reserve league match against big rivals the Portland Timbers. The reserve league is a way for bench players to get game minutes and show the coaches their skills in game situations, hopefully Alex does enough to be featured in an upcoming 1st-Team match. _________________ Bonzai Davidson!

He also scored in the US Open Cup against his hometown team the Atlanta Silverbacks. This tournament is open to all teams in the U.S and is essentially a national championship tournament which is why the Sounders are playing an amateur team. If the Sounders win the Open Cup again this year it would be their 4th in a row. Caskey started both Open Cup games for Seattle this season and should continue that for the rest of the competition. _________________ Bonzai Davidson!

Last night they showed a replay of the game on Fox Soccer. They credited Caskey's goal to Rose... Alex headed the ball into the corner and it tipped off of Rose's head on its way into the net. It looked like Rose gave the credit to Caskey but it did not count as his goal.
There was a lot to be excited about in his play during the game. Even the announcers mentioned that all of the play on the left hand side of the field was orchestrated by Caskey. He took every corner kick except one (the one where he scored), wrapped a shot around the outside of the post in the first half and set up a number of dangerous plays including two that resulted in goals.
The analysts believe that Caskey and Cato are giving the Sounders managers a problem in that there will be no good reason to keep them off the field when the more serious games arrive. |

Heading over to the Brickhouse with davcats92 (a huge Sounders fan) to watch Alex and the Seattle Sounders beat up on the Portland Timbers.
Davcats92 showed me a hilarious clip from the show Portlandia, showing two people from Portland heading to their first Timbers game. Possible new Davidson cheer at the very end?

Alex received some nice mention around the 54 minute mark with a nice dribble and pass that led to a shot on goal. Seattle made a goal about 2 minutes later.
Caskey with a shot later. 2-1 Portland @ 61 minutes. |

Alex got his 1st ever MLS goal against David Beckham, Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane of the LA Galaxy tonight in a 4-0 win. Congrats to Alex and Up the Sounders! _________________ Bonzai Davidson!

Not usually an MLS fan but a fun game to watch, especially given Caskey's success tonight. _________________ "This is a team that was build by investing pennies over time into a jar that's now overflowing.
