Positives:
- we won the second half
- Schulte, Ghedini, and Moss got some quality minutes and acquitted themselves very well
- defense was actually decent and held them to a reasonable 3 pt. percentage

Quick Thoughts:
- Logan needs more minutes
- 3 pt. shooting has to improve
- Bunnies!!!!
- FT rebounding
Two more positives:
Excellent crowd, especially without students.
Getting to watch Connor Kochera play.

I agree about Connor. He’s playing like we’d hoped he would play.

post-game Kenpom ranks us at #130, down quite a bit from before.
Massey says Dayton is #31, SBU is #79 and Davidson is #89, only down 4 places.
The simluated remainder of the season however says 8.51-8.49, which puts us at 19-12 or 18-13 for the season. Not great and slightly below .500 in the conference, maybe 8th place.

Before the season(and the addition of a 31st game) I said we would go 19-11.

As bad as that was, we actually hung pretty close even without Skogman. Skog could have drawn their big men out with his jumper. He also brings energy and aggressiveness to the floor.

At this point in the season.....

Durkin should get the start over Brizzi.
Logan should get the start over Bailey.

Brizzi is in a funk and he might be better coming in off the bench and playing point.

Logan has now blocked 14 shots and now playing more aggressive. Bailey needs a fire lit under him so he plays a lot harder. The big guy shoots too many wimpy shot in close. Logan beat a guy tonight and jammed down the bucket. We need more of that.

There were a lot of loose balls on the floor tonight that no Cat made an effort to get. Did we tie up a single jump ball?

Coach played some weird combos that made it look like the players were more interested in making the next right pass in the offense instead of finding their own good shot or to feed a cutter.

It was my first time to the Arener this year. Wow, 4 dollar ticket, a nice free glass for my bar, and free beer.

I liked the new floor and the look overall. Cats need more people tapping beer. Draft beer could become their biggest fund raiser.

I don't remember seeing a single replay.
I think Reed starts over Logan, because Logan's game is too close to Skog's.

For me, it is the same reason Reed started over Skog last year, Skog's game was too close to Sam's. Long way of saying that Logan, Skog and Sam play the 5 and Reed is currently more of a 4/3.

If a change is made, we might see Durkin start over Brizzi or Reed.

Durkin played 34 minutes to Brizzi's 11, Bobby is already "starting" over Angelo.

I figured we'd settle at about #160. Top half, but on the low end. That might end up being about right, but we're exceeding expectations so far.

Players want the "start" not just the minutes.

I want to see more of Kochera, Grant, and Durkin at the same time. We put too much pressure on Durkin when he seems to be the only shooter on the court. He seems to be the guy we chuck the ball to when no one else can get a shot up with 5 seconds on the shot clock.

Brizzi is now shooting 29% from the field and 18% from three. He seems to be a better player than that. We could bring him in off the bench to play point and give Grant more rest. Grant played a team hight 33 minutes and he will burn out at that pace. Brizzi may do better running the show.

Brizzi's forcing it for sure. Often looks borderline out of control.

True, he knows that unless he produces in the first couple of minutes he is pulled. With Skogman out, Kochera is the only proven outside shooter in the first five

Liked some of the fight I saw. Turnovers were not only killers but came at bad times.
Dayton was impressive but showed some less than classy moves on the floor. The dunk with 15 seconds left in the game got under my skin.

I talked to several Dayton fans as we exited the arener; nice folks. I commented on their turnout and one guy said that the Flyers have a pretty strong alumni base in the greater Charlotte area. They all said they would have preferred to see Skogman in our lineup because it would have been a better indication of how we match up against Holmes and Jack later in the season.

Without Skog's threat to hit the trailing three, they could pack it in close to the basket and take away the backdoor cuts and creases. I also had the impression that they defended the three very well against us. We didn't get many spot-up looks at the basket from long range.

good points (and falconry), Raptor.

Dayton can get up close to you because they have a pretty good protector against drives to the basket.
