Davidson Dunk-O-Meter

It is back! For years I tracked how many dunks we made and how many we allowed. I haven't done it in several years. I'm doing it again this year. Why? Because dunks are cool? No, because they are one way to measure how well we run our offense, how dangerous we are in transition, and how determined we are in defense. It is not unusual for us to hold opponents (even teams that typically dunk a lot) to zero dunks. In all the years I tracked this, we never outdunked the opponents for a season. We aren't likely to this year. Some dynamic dunk artists are apt to double our entire team's output for the year. I'm talking about high-flying, aggressive guys like Dayton's Obi Toppin. But we'll hold most teams well under their average. And we'll have some highlight-reel slams of our own. I break them down OOC and A10, home and away. I'll crank up the Dunk-0-Meter tonight. Like other stats, tonight's totals don't count. Predictions for team and/or individual totals are welcomed. Tonight I'm predicting 4 Wildcat dunks and 1 for Glenville State.

In the past, there has been a question about pronunciation. "dunk-om-a-ter" or "dunk-0-meat-er." Definitely the latter, with a long O.
If there is a question about whether a basket was really a dunk or just a high layup, the decision is very simple: did a Wildcat do it or was it one of our opponents. Tie goes in the favor of a Wildcat and against an opponent.
