Assuming all goes well, when should you expect one of the outstanding 2017s to commit?

Wish our non conference schedule included one Ivy every season: Princeton or Harvard or Yale or Penn.[/quote]

I agree, always like playing the Ivy League. Seems though, the Ivies haven't liked playing us much recently.

"New" name (April mention. How'd that escape notice?)

I wonder how hard we are recruiting additional PGs in the HS class of 2017? We already have a highly regarded PG in this class. We have a PG in this year's freshman class. We will graduate a PG this year.

I think we need a wing (Walter Whyte this could be you) more than we need a second PG.

I think we need a big at least as much as we need a second PG. We will graduate 4 bigs in the next two years. I don't think we can afford to wait until next year to reload up front. One big this year plus two next year seems to be the minimum we should sign.

I don't disagree on the need for big men, especially since they often need development time, but I do think the more guards the merrier when it comes to our offense. Two years ago our offense was a different beast when we had Jack, Tyler and Brian all on the court together because all could shoot and while Jack was the most natural point, all could create and make plays. Adding a natural wing like Whyte and 2-guard/shooter like Frampton would be awesome, but another point would definitely not hurt, especially since Kellan has experience playing both on and off the ball.

For a team that likes to run 3 guards, we are a bit shorthanded this year. Given that we are partial to passing and protecting the ball, having multiple guards that have played the point in high school is probably a preference, not a problem. I'd say that's why we have put a premium on guards for 2017. Some wings that can rebound, slide over and defend the 3 and even 4 in a pinch also makes sense. Could we use one "big" in the 2017 class? I would probably agree that would be ideal, however, the sell for 2017 is a bit tougher than the sell for 2018 after Will, Peyton, Nathan, and Oskar (if he's a big) graduate. I'd bet if the right guy comes along- we will make that offer- but the primary focus this year will remain on guards.

From the Phenom report linked in the last full listing:
Carter is a quick and athletic scoring PG that changes speeds nicely in the frontcourt. While he is best at scoring off the dribble, he has excellent court vision and passing skills. We’ve been impressed with his high basketball IQ and knowledge of the game. Carter is very creative with the ball in his hands and has a nifty one hand cross over and a patented step back move off the dribble.

Carter does have a quiet demeanor and is such a humble young man off the court. He is a model citizen and high character prospect and should garnish tremendous interest from high academic institutions. Carter can be seen at the Spring Hoop Fest and the Grassroots TOC in April.

You have to like a kid who played for only one high school and one AAU team.
