This makes the Sunday matchup of the Deacons and the BC Eagles one for the ages. BC is close to running the table in the ACC in men's hoops and football. Wake Forest had a perfect season in hoops in the Bob Staak Era.

If you're implying that the above is redundant (though there are other funny things you may be referring to), don't jump to conclusions. The Deacons may have a team:

Football. The Eagles ran the table in the ACC last fall.

She apparently missed out on studying some Greek tragedies. That hubris thing can be a real kick in the ass.

The Big O is going small. He is among the few who are legitimately discussed as the GOAT. He was un-guardable in his day because he was supremely talented and gifted with athleticism (like Wilt and Russell) that was decades advanced for his time. He's had a chip on his shoulders since Michael ascended to the throne to which he once had a claim.

Left out of the above rendering of the interview are the great shooters Robertson referenced from his playing days "Adrian Smith and Jerry West". West is one of the few I'd even put in a discussion with Steph's shooting skills. And West states that Steph is the best shooter he's ever seen and "it's not even close" according to the Logo. But Adrian Smith? This may reveal a touch of senility in the Big O's thinking. I remember watching Adrian Smith play. Trust me. He was no Steph Curry and should never be in the discussion of great shooters. He was barely average in his day. A career 43% shooter and he averaged 11 ppg.

Big O's 1961-62 season when he averaged a triple double is rightfully the stuff of legends. His efficiency rating that year was around 26. Steph is currently around 32.5 by comparison. I don't think Oscar takes kindly to having his great season eclipsed by Steph. He's not handling it very well.

I'm still reeling from Steph's catch-and-shoot in the corner against ATL. Who can/could do that with zero space and a release that almost looked like shooting before catching? Who besides Steph wouldn't be benched merely for attempting that shot?

And the weird thing is that if I came across some YouTube of Steph's top 20 highlight plays of this year, I'd fully expect the shot I'm talking about to be omitted from the list.

That's where we are with Steph right now.

"Oh I'm sure, yeah," Kerr said when asked about Robertson's suggestion that players from the past could contain Curry better than the players of today. "I could have stopped this back in my time. Boy, I would have shut Steph down."
...
Because athletes, you know, 50 years ago were much bigger, stronger and faster, more finely tuned," Kerr continued. "So Steph might not have made it in the league."

Steph would make Oscar look like Oskar.

Think about this ... if Steph's 3s were only counted for 2 points ... he would still be averaging 25.5 ppg and shooting 51% FG this season. Oscar's averages per 36 minutes (Steph plays 34 mpg) in that glorious 61-62 season were 25 ppg and 47.8%. Big O actually played 44 mpg that year.

Watch these highlights from the NBA finals in 1960. The best two teams in the league when Oscar joined the league.

With athletes like that playing defense, Steph would have had no chance.

Yes, Steph would average 50.
