Shouldn't have mattered. He made his players accountable. This is downright stupid.

I'll be pretty surprised if ECU ends up with a better coach than the one they just let go. Didn't they have a rash of injuries this year, including the QB position? This seems nuts at first glance, which I guess is why it's in this thread.

Meant to have a [/s] which indicated that I am of the same sentiment

Poor Furman fans. They think we have selective memories? We're 44-31 against them. And that's just on their home court. 101-61 overall.

One poster got a thrill over our loss to UNC. Today's FU loss to Gardner-Webb (by 20) gives me little pleasure...much satisfaction, but little pleasure. 8)

Furman's last NCAA game was in 1980 in Greensboro. That's more than a generation ago. Kenny Wilson was still in high school.

After 5 or 6 people posted on that Furman thread, they recalled 3 coaches who led the Wildcats to the NCAA tournament. There's one they haven't named yet.

The Israelites had to wander in the wilderness for 40 years before they could enter the promised land. If Furman were still a Baptist school, they'd only have 5 more years to wander.

BH, during the otherwise "lean years".

Furple is still playing basketball? They haven't been a threat since Jimmy Carter was in office.

Selective memories? This from fans of the valiant, brilliant team who chose to make a two pointer at the buzzer when down by three to nearly beat the Cats in 1981*, who nearly scored in the first 8 minutes of the game at Belk in 2008, and who have personally wet themselves in nearly every game against Davidson since their 1981 struggle with single digits arithmetic?

The ones for whom Elite Eight has for a generation meant winning a play-in round game in the SoCon tournament?

Those guys?

* Yes, there was a three pointer then, yes, the Furple player was all by himself, on a breakaway, no less, and yes, the three point arc was clearly marked. Yes, their cheerleaders jumped up and down and cheered his decision under the basket. Yes, video exists.

Ruffin McNeal(sp?) has landed in Charlottesville where he will be Associate Head Coach and linebackers coach.

They're commenting on a three-week old thread?

Did he try to pull up and accidentally got his toe on the line, or did he just drive right to the basket?

Same thing happened to them in the 2010 SoCon Tournament at the Old Old Coliseum. Someone (Saaka?) went coast-to-coast for a tomahawk jam at the buzzer while down 3

Went all the way in and made a layup.
