The story is that Lefty told Don Davidson that his name would be on both the front and the back of his jersey.

Re: Portal
Doesn’t that offense assume better shooting on average than we have been doing lately, particularly outside?

Re: Portal
Absolutely. Outside shooting acumen is an imperative in that offense. I suspect the coaching staff is aggressively pursuing accomplished three point shooters in the portal.

Respectfully, without our offensive system, what are we?

Exactly what we are with it--searching.

Re: Portal
I call it the pack-line offense--all offensive players inside the arc. Or 5 in/0 out, if you like.

This needs to wind up with a marketplace. Sign players to contracts, be it one year, two year, etc. Allow the two parties to negotiate. My gut would be that would all but eliminate one year players.

Alabama's Aaron Estrada is attending his 6th school in 7 years: high school, prep school, St. Peter's, Oregon, Hofstra, Alabama. To his credit, he did spend 2 years at Hofstra and graduated. He wanted do his COVID year as a graduate student at Hofstra, but his coach encouraged him to transfer to a school where he could get more NIL money. It worked out pretty well for him and for Alabama.Ursa Midmajor wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 8:57 amThis needs to wind up with a marketplace. Skogman meeting with U Wisconsin. Home state, six figure NIL most likely.
The other four transfers out, dont see much happening. Not a market for guards that shoot poorly and played for a 500 team

If he goes there, I wish him luck. Glad he wasn't playing for them this season. JMU would have had a problem with him.otherwildcat wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2024 10:00 amSkogman meeting with U Wisconsin. Home state, six figure NIL most likely.

There may be a market for the guards if they transfer down. Plus with all the portal craziness, someone may want a 1 year or 2 year rental just to have a body for practice and to balance out recruiting classes. If you transfer down low enough, they may just make you a starter and with the pressure off and against less talented competition, it might work.

Some stiff competition for Cade Tyson:wildforthecats wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2024 8:04 amThis Cade can shoot. 46.5% on 3’s, 85.5% FT.citycat wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 11:45 pmCade Tyson, Hunter Tyson's younger brother, is in the portal. We wanted Hunter, but he went to Clemson and is in the NBA, sort of.
Cade went to Belmont. He's done well there.
We have 2 scholarships tied up with Bailey and Logan. Tyson would compliment Durkin.
We need to make Trent Steinour and Colt Langdon our main priorities for '25.
This Cade always got into foul trouble with Simon:

At least there’s no mention of Kansas or UCLA (yet?).
Re: Portal
At Kentucky he’ll stand in the corner and wait for a dribble drive kick out. It won’t come often enough.
UT can show him how it worked out for Knecht (sp?)

Jack Clark is transferring. Again. Looking for a 4th school in 4 years.
Bronny James has a 4.9M price tag. Probably a bargain.
