Scholarship counting time! (D1 MBB teams can use up to thirteen.)

2020
1.) Jon Axel Gudmundsson
2.) Kishawn Pritchett (RS)

2021
3.) Carter Collins
4.) Kellan Grady
5.) Bates Jones

2022
6.) Nelson Boachie-Yiadom
7.) Luka Brajkovic
8.) David Czerapowicz
9.) Luke Frampton (RS)

2023
10.) Mike Jones (RS)
11.) David Kristensen

If that’s accurate (and it could be wrong—for instance, if someone else on the roster has a scholarship), then there are two open scholarships for next season.

... It’s a shame but injuries happen.
With alarming frequency.

Said the doos will be leaving. But he has put up a nice career with loads of potential I hope that he may be able to convert into a professional job overseas. And continue to recruit Serbian big men on our behalf. We certainly need the depth!

Not exactly a recruiting item ... but, I always loved the talent and production of De'Mon Brooks. So, for those that get to see the team play in person on a regular basis, can you share your opinions as to where De'Mon stands in comparison to current and recent Davidson bigs? I'm wondering whether the step up in conference skews the comparison too much to tell, or if you think De'Mon would have been just as effective in the A10. Given his performances against many big name programs, I kind of feel like he may have been even better in the A10. What do you think?

I think De'mon on this team would be a godsend.

One of the best ever to don the jersey. He would have thrived in this conference.

DeMon was one of the quickest I ever saw getting off the floor multiple times. His legs were like springs.

Sadly, our conference change seems to have coincided with an increase in bad injury juju with forwards. Aldridge is an all time great, but his frontcourt mates were often wings by trade or coming off injuries. Ah, to remember our heady SoCon days, when we had 3 or 4 healthy forwards in the regular rotation. Cohen/Brooks/Mann (pre that last concussion). Lovedale/Meno/Sander/Rossiter. Kosmalski/Grace/Johnson. Pearson/Ides/Erege (right? I think they played together). Kinda weird how that has worked out. Maybe it's my homer-ism, but I think all of those guys would have been great contributors in the A10, too.

The game has also changed so that big forwards aren't as valuable unless they can also shoot threes. When the game is more and more "get across the timeline and chuck it" your 6'10 guys aren't as valuable.

De'mon would have been a beast in the A10 playing alongside Luka or Cohen. I think he would have struggled if he had to play the 5, as I believe he did most of his senior year. He's just not big enough to go up against A10 centers. But as the "second" big man, he would have been a load.

Also, I will fight you if you suggest anyone was better at being the last player introduced than De'Mon. He brought swagger, nastiness and energy as the team got low for his intro. He should run clinics on how to be introduced.

Seems like a perfect opportunity to bring in a sit one play 3 (or 2) transfer....

Can we please find a De'mon 2.0 and Peyton 2.0 to go with Luka, KG, and Luke. Thanks.

I'm going to conclude that we all are in agreement, that De'Mon Brooks would have been special in the A10, as well (and Jake Cohen, too). If you think about how fickle the college recruiting and commitment world is, recall that De'Mon came to us after committing to lowly Howard University (and de-committing only after they canned their coach), and Tyler Kalinoski arrived as a late commitment who apparently had few other offers (and we only had a scholarship available because of somebody getting turned down by Admissions, I believe). Two of our all-time greats very nearly were all-time nevers. Love it when the ball bounces our way :)

Saw Hunter Tyson play some bigger minutes against UNC in a loss this past weekend. He would have looked nice in red and black.

What are you expecting JAG and KP to be doing next year?
