Not sure why not. You can't recruit great players without recruiting great players.

But right after the UNC reference there appears the antidote to such poison:

The main points Platek says he is looking for in a school revolve around academics. His family has always pushed him to be a strong academic student on top of being an elite basketball player, and so when he looks at a school its academic reputation Platek says will play a major role.

"Academics are very important, they actually come first," Platek stated. "I cannot go to a school that has a poor academic reputation. I want to go to a school noted for strong academics, but a school that balances that with a strong basketball team too."

For anyone investigating the status of such balance here's a handy link to further information:

UNC is about to achieve a balance of probation in both academics and athletics, while Davidson continues its tradition of considering either to be unthinkable.

Just saying.

From Galuppo's ESPN profile (http://insider.espn.go.com/college-spor ... in-galuppo):
Strengths:

Galuppo has a solid looking frame with long arms and overall good length. He is a savvy player with excellent instincts and he definitely has a nose for the ball. The ultimate strength to his game is his shooting prowess. He has a low release on his shot (chest high), but he has excellent rotation on his shot and he can get it off fairly quick. He is more potent off the catch than shooting off the dribble. He is a quality passer and an underrated athlete. He has a nice burst off the dribble and he displays ideal explosiveness when attacking the rim, especially in transition.
Weaknesses:

Galuppo is a hold back and it will be interesting to see how his frame continues to fill out going forward. Although he has a fairly solid crossover move, he needs to continue get stronger with the ball especially when attacking pressure. In addition, developing go-to mid-range skills in the elbow area will enhance his game as well.
Bottom Line:

Galuppo is one of the more polished young prospects in Southern California. His shooting prowess alone will attract college interest.

Bob in the huddle during timeout: "Don't listen to BDL!"
Matt: "Coach, that's BDF."
Bob: "What?! There's two of them!?"

6'8, 217. ESPN gives him 3 stars and a 77 score. This A10 thing is working out for us.
